Creating art from the heart is an intimate experience. To listen to what is inspiring you is to listen with your whole being, to allow all that arises to exist simultaneously, whether we perceive it to be beautiful or ugly. One of the gifts of art is the opportunity to deeply feel as well as to transmute emotions. The beauty of music (or poetry or dance or visual arts) is that it sings differently for everyone. One song can become many anthems as the listener brings their heart to the conversation.
In this workshop, artist/musician Orlando Villarraga shares pieces of his music as a catalyst for creative reflection, intimate conversation, and a collective exploration of themes such as identity and love. This experience will be an invitation to allow yourself to show up in vulnerability and honesty, an act of service for ourselves and each other as we learn to create a culture where whole-hearted being is accepted and welcomed.
The 90-minute experience will take you on a journey through sound, visual art, and meditation leading into reflection and group interactions. Orlando will create a space where we may invite the fullness of our being into a caring community.
