The series kicks off on Jan. 27 at 4pm ET/3pm CT with Kaya Henderson, former DC Public Schools Chancellor, Reconstruction Founder and CEO, and Co-Host of Pod Save the People.
Too many youth of color are growing up in a world in which every picture, every statistic, tells them that success is not for them. It’s hard to dream or strive when you don’t see yourself reflected in the images of success across our society. Though the opportunity gap has narrowed for young men and women of color in recent decades, there are still far too few opportunities for young people of color to see or connect with professionals who look like them. Leaders Like Me seeks to change that narrative for Urban Alliance students by giving them – and the entire UA community – the opportunity to speak with and learn from leaders of color across a variety of industries.
